Barry Tomkins

Business & Community Governor

Barry worked for HMI for 20 years and is now retired. He keeps busy, however, with his six grandchildren and his many hobbies, which include supporting the Sixth Form Interactors at PRS, walking, cycling, camping, painting, sailing and doing charity work through the Rotary Club (where he has been a member for over 30 years). Barry is also a member of the University of the Third Age in Princes Risborough.

Emma is a senior pastoral leader and English teacher at a local secondary school. She has lived in Princes Risborough for over 20 years, and has worked in a range of educational institutions across the country.

Chris lives in Princes Risborough and works for the RAF, where he is responsible for the governance and assurance of RAF Sport. He has served in the RAF for over 35 years, and has an extensive professional portfolio encompassing project, operational and business management, training, budgeting, planning and admin., He has three children and, in his spare time, enjoys sailing, walking, keeping fit and gardening.

Davy is an IT consultant in his own company, where he diagnoses how organisations, processes and systems can be made more efficient, suggest improvement plans and deliver the improvements. He lives locally with his partner and three children.

 

RACHEL GRAY

Before joining PRS as a Governor in 2012, Rachel had ten years’ experience of being a Governor in two other schools. She works in education, supporting schools to use their management information systems. Rachel’s life is very busy, having three sons and volunteering for Hearing Dogs as a “Bed & Breakfast Socialiser”. In her spare time she enjoys walking and reading.

 

ANDREW KING

Andrew is currently Operations Director for Serious Games International. He has over 20 years of experience of service delivery, software development and sales in the corporate L&D space. He is an advocate of Prince, Agile and practices LEAN methodology. Outside of work, Andrew coaches youngsters at his local cricket club. He is a keen cook and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.

Richard has lived in the local area all his life. He is a Detective Chief Superintendent with Thames Valley Police, having served over 26 years with the force, and with extensive experience of all aspects of policing. Richard is also a qualified cricket coach and football referee, coaching youngsters at Wendover Cricket Club and refereeing junior matches at Thame United. Richard enjoys mainly reading, walking and family life.

 

KATE NICOLLE

Kate is the Learning & Training Manager for the charity, “One Plus One”, whose work focuses on strengthening family relationships, using research to improve the outcomes for children. She has a keen interest in the welfare of both the students and staff at PRS. Kate has a husband and two sons who are all “sports-mad”.

Sam has many years’ experience in office administration, working at Senior PA level. She works at a local secondary school in the Exams Office, does voluntary work for a bereavement group and, in her spare time, enjoys walking her two dogs, watercolour painting and spending time with her family.

PETE ROWE

Staff Governor

Pete is, of course, Head of PRS, but is also a full member of the Governing Body. He attends most meetings and reports regularly on all aspects of the school. He gives the rest of the Governors a great deal of his time and strives to help then have as full a picture of the school as possible. Pete plays county-level badminton, and also attends weekly philosophy classes – his latest endeavour to be a lifelong learner. He is also Alfie’s owner.

 

ANDREW RYSDALE

Andrew is a Chartered Building Surveyor and works for a local housing association where he is the Head of Asset Management. He has spent over 20 years in the construction industry in local authority, private practice and social housing. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys playing golf. He is also attempting to encourage his three children to join him in supporting Wycombe Wanderers, but with varying degrees of success!

 

JONNY SMITH

Jonny joined PRS in 2010, delivering literacy intervention in the Learning Support Department. He swiftly became Literacy Co-ordinator for the school, and is now a teacher of English across all key stages. When not working, Jonny enjoys playing and watching football, going to gigs and the theatre.
