Admissions
There are three types of admission to the school:
- Joining the school as a Year 7 student in September
- Joining the school at any other point (In-Year Admissions)
- Joining from another school into the Sixth Form

Joining the school as a Year 7 student in September
The admissions window for people seeking a place at secondary school opens as soon as your child starts Year 6 at primary school. It closes at the end of October, and you will find out where you child has a place at the start of March the following year.
Applications for school places are made directly through the Buckinghamshire Council website. Information on the process of moving up to secondary school can be found on their Admissions website, including the timeline for the process. At this link you will also find details of open events for all schools.
Children are admitted to Princes Risborough School in accordance with the Buckinghamshire Council admission criteria.

Bookings for Open Events will open in September 2026

Unhappy with the place you are offered?
You can appeal to Buckinghamshire County Council if you are unhappy with the place you are offered at the start of March.
A school will usually only refuse a child if the school has received more applications than they have places available.
The deadline for making an appeal is usually around four weeks from the day you are offered your place.

In-Year Admissions
Applications for places at the school other than to start Year 7 in September are known as in-year admissions. If you wish to apply for a place for a student outside the Year 7 transfer process you should complete the Buckinghamshire’s In-Year Admissions application form.
