Sport
Sport is an important aspect to life at our school and students are encouraged and expected to participate to the best of their ability. Our sports provision is excellent and we have a diverse co-curricular programme to supplement the core Games curriculum. Students are taught Physical Education in single sex groups by one of the department's fully qualified P.E teachers. At Key Stages 3-5 students will experience one P.E lesson per week and at Key Stages 3-4 one Games session per week.
Students will be taught a range of sporting activities which change each half-term. Activities will include: table tennis, touch-tennis, badminton, netball, handball, basketball, strength and conditioning, gymnastics, climbing and athletics. Lessons will follow the P.E department LPC model (Learn, Perform, Compete) with students first learning or refining a skill/technique, then performing the skill/technique within a game related practice and finally practising the skill/technique within a small sided game.
